HIV/AIDS Medical Care

HSC provides HIV medical treatment on site including clinical studies with two board certified infectious disease physicians available for treatment at multiple locations

Medical care is provided by the Clinical Director and the clinical team at the primary site and four satellite locations. These services include all care that can be provided by a general physician and/or infectious diseases specialist, including laboratory monitoring of general laboratory parameters and other routine health maintenance items as are appropriate such as screening for breast, colon, and prostate cancer. Nutritional support services are provided through both the clinical and case management staff in the form of food boxes and nutritional supplements dispensed directly to patients. Medical specialty care beyond the scope of services available at HSC is provided through referrals within the patient’s local medical community. Pharmaceutical services are provided to patients through the Dispensary Technician. This staff member meets with each patient at the end of their clinic visit and assesses their pharmaceutical needs, reviews adherence issues including medication side effects and appropriate ways to take medications, and dispenses medications to those patients receiving medications through the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) or clinic resources. HSC provides access to clinical trials for appropriate patients on-site as well.

We provide emergency, on-call phone service, for our patients, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

HSC is not currently able to provide oral health services on-site. Access to these services is available to HSC through a referral arrangement with local area dental providers. HSC provides all other services at both our primary site and at five satellite locations situated throughout the 14 county service area. These six sites allow our clients to access services easily at a location that is close to their home.
